Your world through Your eyes.

(just a silly picture with my silly friend which shows you my silly life here on this island!!!!)

guys. how is it possible that in less than a month, KI is going to be over!! When I think about this past year, i get overwhelmed with emotion because of all that this year entailed. It was full of so much laughter (actually, I do not think I have stopped laughing since I got here lol), a lot of hard tears, many days singing out Driver's License, too much Chick Fil la, and so much heart transformation that I am simply not the same human I was when I walked through these island gates 8 months ago. I will never get over it. And I am so thankful for it. This tiny little island will always mean the most to me. I hope eternity is a lot like life on this island. :')

this week at ki, we learned a lot about apologetics. basically, that means we learned how to defend our faith in certain areas. now, with what we covered, we barely scratched the service. and we could spend the rest of our life learning what our faith means and how to do defend it. May we always learn to do that well!

one thing that i loved learning about this week is this thing called worldview. when we hear that word, we assume we know what that means, but when someone asks you what your worldview is, it is very hard to put it into words. i know it was hard for me to put it into words. your worldview affects everything about your life.

a worldview is a set a beliefs and assumptions that affect how you see the world. it is the lens in which you look at the world through. i think understanding how you see the world and understanding how other people see the world is so vital in order to cultivate conversations with people and share your heart for Jesus with them!

there are three major worldviews that most people filter their world through. it might not seem like right off the bat, but if you were to truly dwell on what each person believed and how they see the world, they would fit into one of these world views.

  • Theism

    • God is real and in charge of the whole universe.

  • Naturalism

    • God is not real and universe is what is sovereign.

  • Pantheism

    • God is real but also the universe is real and sovereign.

what does it mean to have a biblical worldview?

A biblical worldview means that Jesus is at the center of our life and he changes, transforms, and affects every part of our life. He is at the middle of it and through him and his word, we filter everything through.

what would it look like if we genuinely filtered every part of our life and world through the word of God and the person of Jesus? Because if you are a believer, that is what we are called to. I know that this is something i need to evaluate because if i am honest with myself, there are times when i do not consider jesus in how i look at the world around me.

because here's the thing. a biblical worldview is the only worldview that offers real, strong, and lasting hope. because the jesus is the only person that can give us that.

Jesus, may I always look at YOUR world through YOUR eyes.
